QZYMODELS proudly presents the 1:1500 large urban planning competition model for Dongguan Weiyuan Island, custom-made for global design firm AECOM. This 2.5m × 2.5m masterplan model visualizes the futuristic urban blueprint at the three-river confluence of Dongguan.

1. Project Overview
This urban concept model was built for an international urban design competition. Adopting a minimalist wooden aesthetic, buildings and base feature natural wood texture, paired with light grey-blue water bodies and pale green vegetation. Dual-temperature lighting system is integrated: 4000K warm white lights for buildings and 6000K cool lights for water landscape, to highlight the urban spatial axis. Despite the compact 1:1500 scale, the model retains rich architectural and landscape details. The whole project, from sample fabrication to final delivery, was completed within only 14 days.

2. Craftsmanship & Core Highlights
The 1:1500 scale requires ultra-high precision. Our team adopted advanced fabrication techniques and premium raw materials. We first produced pre-production samples to verify every detail, repeatedly adjusting textures, colors and lighting effects to faithfully restore AECOM’s urban design vision.
The contrast between warm wood tone and dual-color-temperature lighting creates distinct spatial layers, presenting the whole island’s traffic network, building clusters, river systems and ecological green space. It is ideal for design competition presentation, jury review and exhibition display.
